Responsible use

Adults only. These are neutral basics, not medical advice and not encouragement — cannabis affects everyone differently, and the rules differ street by street.

Legality comes first

Being able to buy cannabis somewhere does not mean you may consume it anywhere. Purchase, possession and consumption are separate rules — check the local legal guide for the specific place you are in, including venue-level rules.

Never drive or operate machinery

Cannabis impairs reaction time and judgement for hours — longer than the feeling lasts. Driving under the influence is illegal everywhere we cover and is the fastest way to turn a legal purchase into a criminal case. Plan your way back before you consume.

Know your limits, start low

Potency varies enormously between products. Edibles in particular act slowly — taking more because “nothing is happening” is the most common mistake. If you are new to a product, start with the smallest option and wait before deciding on more.

Keep it away from children and pets

Store products sealed, labeled and out of reach. Edibles are especially dangerous for children and animals because they look like ordinary food.

Be careful with combinations

Mixing with alcohol or other substances amplifies effects unpredictably. Tobacco mixing is additionally restricted in many venues and jurisdictions.

When to seek help

Feeling far too intense is usually temporary — find a calm place, hydrate, and stay with someone. Seek medical help for chest pain, repeated vomiting, or if a child or pet has ingested cannabis. If use is interfering with your life, local health services can help; directory information on this site is never a substitute for medical advice.
